A Pipa Player

Posted by tengtan (Melbourne, Australia) on 22 July 2007 in Lifestyle & Culture.

The pipa is a sort of Chinese lute and traditional classical Chinese music played on it sounds ethereal. This and the next one are taken at a cultural night concert in a Chinese garden setting in Suzhou, a city in China famous for its traditional gardens.

The performance in this case was in the art gallery in one of the many picturesque pavilion buildings, as the background paintings would indicate.

This starts a sub-series on music and musicians, not necessarily busking.

And once again thanks everyone for your continued interest and support.
